What is this Alpina? I know nothing about it and will you be able to get it in the US? Is this made by BMW or is it after market. Please don't think I'm stupid, I just truly have never heard of it.

It's a German company that modifies BMWs. One of the best aftermarket tuners of BMWs. I think you can get some Alpinas in the US, but they are very rare here.

Also, they enjoy a very old & special relationship with BMW. They are actually registered as a manufacturer in Germany. They modify the cars heavily for performance, and BMW still warranties the car completely. According to their website, they do not officially export to the US, so it is difficult to get the vehicles here.
