is the rim damaged? If it is not bent or majorly damaged, it can probably be fixed. Otherwise, replace the rim. Probably around 300 bucks for a rim from the BMW dealer, it's no big deal considering you probably paid a good 30 grand for the car. Just as long as there isn't any other damage.

You didn't get ripped off... it's just a lot of money. Rory was probably just assuming you had the base 325 coupe. Add $12,000 to that, and that's what my 330 came to. I think mine started at $44,500 then when all the options were added on it topped out at $52,000 before taxes. That's more than I've ever paid for a car, but I'm lovin' life. It's an amazing ride.

Regarding your rim, I think you should have it replaced. You'll feel better knowing it's new.

And... way to go with the Silver Grey Metalic! I love the color. I was going to go with the Titanium Silver, but when I saw the Silver Grey I had to have it.

You probably could have done a little bettter. I'm doing Euro Delivery of a 330ci with SMG, leather, metallic, moonroof, heated seats, sports pkg. for $38,170 but that's Euro delivery and no sales tax in Oregon.

Base price for Euro delivery of my car would have been $2500 less. Had I known about it, I would have probably waited and gone ED, but I was a newb and had them trade for one on another lot. At least it only had 14 miles on it. [:)]

Whether or not you got screwed is a matter of opinion, but it sounds like you did okay. Some people are good bargainers, some aren't. Don't think you got screwed because somebody else paid $500 or even $1000 less. It also has to do with where you live. There is always going to be somebody who says they got a better deal, but when you factor in all of the options that they may or may not have gotten, the deal may have just been okay. The ultimate deciding factor is how happy you are with what you got.

As for your rims, my dealer offered a 5 year full tire coverage plan that covers even rims for ~$500. If I scratch a rim they will buff it out or replace it if necesary for five years. Covers tire road hazards, too. You may want to find out if they have it available if it hasn't been too long since you purchased. There was a three year plan, too. (Doesn't cover tire replacements due to normal wear, though)

Just thought I would add that when you purchase a new car, go directly to Discount Tire and purchase the tire/road hazard package. This is available for all new tires. It is around $148.00 + tax...........this includes lifetime balance and rotation plus road hazard on tires. My new tire that hit a pothole only cost $28.00 to replace. Of course, this does not cover rims, but it helps on tires.

ok i feel beter that i don't think i got ripped off.

But about the rim. The tire isnt damage at all, actually i think it only hit the rim. It is this long scratch mark that goes around the rim for like 3 inches, itsn ot a dent? I think someone said you can buffer them out? If so how much am i looking at?

I was think, i liek TheBry's rims better then mine, they look more sportier. MY rims look liek CaveDwellers. There alright but damn TheBrys r sweet :D

That must be bacause you have a 330 [???1] im jealous [eek]

How much do those rims cost after market? i hope they arnt liek over a $1000, because liek a sport package is $1000 and u get rims seats and signals! unless the 330 sport package is more

I have no idea how much you paid cause I don't have a 325, but what I'm saying is that since you paid a good sum for your car, dishing out a few hundred bucks to get a new rim isn't a big deal.

Lots of places to look for OEM rims. You can try pacificbmw.com or circlebmw.com. They will probably cost more than $1000. TheBry's are what come with the 330. Call me crazy, but I saw my car side by side with a 330 CiC like his that had those rims and I preferred mine. Of course, I would prefer a 330, but I couldn't justify the extra $$ at the time. [:)] You can also look at www.rennsport.com for some other nice rims.

Check with your dealer or a body shop. Ask how much it would cost to resurface the rim as opposed to replace it.

If you go to bmwwheels.com = Chapman BMW of Scottsdale (right here). They have good pics and ok pricing. If you are a BMWCCA member you may get an additional 10% - 15% off (at only $35/year, may be worth considering)

Next time you buy a car, don't buy any of the added accessories the dealer sells you. You always get ripped off their. For instance, your tint should cost $425 for all 5 windows max. The other "special German" tint only costs about $375 for all 5 windows. Did your dealer tint all 5 windows, or just the back 3? Since you paid $600, well, you do the math. Secondly, if you stop and think about this, why would your car need to be clearcoated outside AND in? Outside, it comes with a factory applied clear coat. Inside, where the hell would you put any clear coating? Basically, the dealer just took $800 and laughed. It's ok tho, you bought a "high class" car instead of some stupid Accord so it's all ok.

Yeah, what is this $800 clearcoat charge? Your paint COMES with a clearcoat, and clear coat on the inside makes absolutely no sense....wtf do they clearcoat on the inside? And if they DID apply any form of clearcoat to your interior, your interior must be shining like a mirror right now, lol.
As for the window tint, what's the special German tint? It costs about $200 to tint all 5 windows, why anything more than that?

The "clearcoat" he is referring to is a coating that is put on the interior to reduce fading and cracking. Clearcoat is the wrong word, but it isn't what you think it is. There is another coating that is put on the exterior paint to reduce scratching.

As for the tint, yes it is cheaper to go somewhere after delivery, but it is convenient as hell to get it done before delivery. Is it worth a couple hundred bucks? Maybe. Lets say you make $35 per hour. If you factor in the hour drive time and two hours out of the work day for the tint to be applied, that's a little over $100. Since things rarely ever happen on time factor in another $35. You are now at $140. Is it worth an extra few dollars to pay someone to do it for you? I say yes, but it is a matter of opinion.

You can also look at it in terms of lawn care. I could mow my lawn myself and save money or I can pay someone else to work in the hot Texas sun and do it for me. Is it worth it for someone else to do it? I say yes, others may say no because you can do it yourself. It all depends on how much you value your time.

As for me, I didn't get tint at delivery. Now I have had to schedule a tint job for a Saturday so I don't use work time. That means I lose part of one of my days off waiting for a tint job to be complete. I'd rather be doing just about anything else in my car other than watch it get tinted.

The people who did my tint will come out to my house and install it. :)

As for the clearcoat stuff, I imagine it's Scotchgard or something similar. My g/f's bro is a head mechanic and he says that stuff is such a ripoff. That stuff comes in a bottle and it's like $5 to do a whole interior. I think I know what that exterior clearcoat stuff is, but my friend said his family gets it aftermarket and it's like $200 outside.

The "clearcoat" inside (im not sure if thats what i should call it) is like when they added stuff to leather seats and dash so it doesnt crack, when they soaked all the carpet and mats with some solution, so incase i drop a soda, it doesnt soak, and you can whip it up, and did something to the doors so no scuff marks appear... thats pretty much it

No such luxury here. [:(] I had to schedule an appointment with one of the more reputable tinters here in the area to get it done and the soonest they had available was two weeks out.

I just have to decide if I want Huper Optik or Llumar and which %. They are saying Llumar should be okay since it's a vert and the antenna is external. I'm thinking I'll trust them on this one since it'll save me a couple hundred $$$. [clap]

Since you're a vert, I'd probably just go with Llumar too. With the top down, the advantage of Huper is kinda defeated.
