Placed my order on a Friday and had Production number following Monday. For order tracking I found the 800.831-1117 to be updated quicker than the owners circle website.

I am at 2 weeks, no production number just yet.

No Prob, It will get done as soon as they can do it. Your "scheduled for production" number means you are in line.

Good luck !

Hey Flash....didnt you have that hot 330cic with hard top?

Is the wait for an M3 about the same as the others, I think they are from a different factory???

I am thinking about trading mine early, they say BMW FS will cut me a good deal on a lease trade for an M3. I just cant decide, its a lot to spend but i want one. [:(]

Bryan,

That would be too cool !

Financially I got lucky, I did not lease & found a buyer for my "former" girl [:D] .

My dealer was very flexible, they guaranteed a trade-in value then let me keep the car until delivery of M3 providing I did not exceed 4,000 miles, with the option to sell outright, my choice.

I will miss the convertible, but the M3 kept eating at me, I shoulda never takin a test drive.

So yes, its me, and here I am waiting again, I cant sleep, eat or anything (just kidding), but I am excited.

I didnt load the M3 with options at all,

My order:

Silver/Grey
6-speed
Premium (Moonroof-leather seats)
Heated seats
OEM alarm

Thats it ! the stuff I need - then Phatbox soon after.

Let me know if you make a move. I sold mine on Ebay 1 week.
That ZHP is a nice stack, are you sure ? I would bet someone would be happy to take it.

The performance switch from a vert is huge 6.9 to 4.8
ZHP's arent they mid 5's ? (pretty quick)

Sounds like it all came together great Flash.

The ZHP is 6.4 or somewhere there I think.

The M3 is just so nice. I just need to decide and do it before I put many more miles on my car. I have 6,000 on it now and the total payments due is about what the dealer could sell it for. So whatever lease fee discount they get back from BMW (only because of another BMW purchase) is their profit, plus the M3.

I just need to decide soon. [???1]

I've had my production number since January 19th and the website says its still on order. The dealer told me 6-8 weeks! I hope its not any longer!

Once you get the production date, does anyone know about how long it takes from that time to arrive at the dealer?

It all depends if the dealer finds a '112' slot available to put your order in. If not, then its slotted into a '111' status and that takes longer. I would ask your salesman for the current status code of your order. Better updates are provided by calling BMWNA, but they are still a day or two behind real time. Once the ship is on a vessel you can either track your order via W&W's website( www.2wglobal.com ) using your VIN#(you can get this once it hits the body shop from the Owner's circle) or your dealer, at this point BMWNA can no longer provide any updated info. Hope this helps.

7 days from bodyshop till completly built
1 day transit to port
10-13 days @ sea -East Coast
20-23 days @ sea - West Coast
3-5 days @ VPC
0-5 days travel to dealer, depends on dealers distance from port.

I got mine within a few days. But I knew the scheduled build date right away. The whole thing depends entirely on your dealer's allocations. If he has a car allocated for you, he/she should be able to tell you right away the build date ... and then the production # should follow shortly.

From previous posts, I gather you go to http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/Toolbox/Appl/CargoTracking/index.jsp and enter the VIN number. Correct? My car is "awaiting transport," but I get "No tracking information is available for the Cargo ID you entered."

I'm jealous.

Is the OEM alarm anything different than what the dealer puts in...or are the dealer not having to put the alarms in anymore?

I had production number the same day (dealer traded slot) and VIN the next day. These times listed above are best case. Mine took 3 days to get to port, waited 10 days to get on ship (Christmas Eve), then 7 days to get from the dock, thru the VPC, and to the PDC (across the street from the VPC)

find out which ships it might be on, go to
http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/Toolbox/Appl/Schedules/index.jsp
and select the search by: Ports option

W&W isn't always great at loading bill of lading into web system, I had to e-mail them, they found the glitch, and the VINs showed up the next morning.

It's a tough wait (mine was 56 days), but it's WORTH it.[driving]

[wave] Bryan330i,

I feel the same way about the M3. I really love my 'ZHP' and can't imagine how driving an
M3 would feel... I'd better NOT test drive one. Maybe when I get a year or so payments under my belt in-case I want to do what you're thinking of ~ trading-up.

By the way... I'll be off this island and home for good the first weekend of April. [headbang]
