I had production number the same day (dealer traded slot) and VIN the next day. These times listed above are best case. Mine took 3 days to get to port, waited 10 days to get on ship (Christmas Eve), then 7 days to get from the dock, thru the VPC, and to the PDC (across the street from the VPC)

find out which ships it might be on, go to
http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/Toolbox/Appl/Schedules/index.jsp
and select the search by: Ports option

W&W isn't always great at loading bill of lading into web system, I had to e-mail them, they found the glitch, and the VINs showed up the next morning.

It's a tough wait (mine was 56 days), but it's WORTH it.[driving]
I think your case was diffrent because of the christmas holiday. I believe the factory closes on the 20th of Dec for a few days.

I agree about W&W, my VIN# didn't show up for 5 days after my car was loaded and that was only after I called. I am just glad my car wasn't on the 'TRICOLOR"[fake]

Every time I think I should go for the M3 this financially conservative thing sets in. Plus I still need to think about 2 car seats, something I need to check out on the M3. Too bad BMW won’t give me one for a weekend to see if it fits my needs. [fake]

But seriously, I have a great car now and it is a lot of fun. And although I don’t transport kids in my car a lot, at those times when I do it may be a bit easier in my car. If I don’t do something now it doesn’t mean I cant get it next year and I am paying the monthly depreciation on my car anyway so it may not be a big deal to do it then either. I would just need to get over this need I have to get it now. [bigcry]

Who knows, I guess I will sleep on it for a week or so.

Hey Paddy, is it nice there???...tropical-white sand, blue water and so on. [wave]

I think they had the factory cranked up to get the last cars out before the end of the year so they could show year over year production increases [rofl] , mine was completed on December 12th, but then the train ride to Bremerhaven and the queue [mad] at the port before loading took up over a week.

Luckily, I found some people's Performance Delivery web-sites to read in the mean time. This guy's car is so close to mine....

That delivery story was pretty cool. I wouldn't have minded doing something like that. My dealr never even bothered to mention that delivery option[V] . Thanks for the link[thumb]

[wave] rjp325i... We're each probably saying, "Oh no, not another Gray 330i 'ZHP' in
Henderson..." [bigcry] [joke] !!!

When you say "PP" you [do] mean the 'Performance Package', right? The "PP" in my mind
refers to the 'Premium Package' like I have in my 325i.

PaddyLV: I see you listed the local chapter of the BMW CCA (Sin City Chapter). I'm VP of the chapter. The PP is the BMW terminology listed on the window sticker and in sales and press literature. The performance package is as you know code ZHP. My first BMW was a new 1985 delphin grey and my younger son has an '03 330ci in steel grey (Sport & Premium pkgs w/18 in wheels) and my older son a titanium silver car. I'm in the middle. Welcome to the grey club. I found the silver grey to be attractive and does not dust up like black or red, I've had both. My 1989 red 3 is the class winner in the 2003 Bavarian Autosport (www.bavauto.com) photo contest (runnerup in 2002) and can be seen on their website.

rjp325i... (a.k.a. ~ Mr. VP)

Love the red '89 on the bavauto site.

The '89 528e I have is the wife's first new Bimmer and bought new. I only need to get a few minor problems corrected and it could be 'a contender.' That's why I didn't want to trade it because it is still in good running condition and would be a great 'show car.'

By the way, I sent you a Private Message (PM) this evening.

I haven't been to one of your monthly meetings yet... Let me know where & when. I'll be back home in April.

Bryan330i... The island here is small. Approx. 2 1/2 miles long by 1/2 mile wide. It's like living on an aircraft carrier. The water is crystal clear/emerald green and shark infested with some the size of mini-submarines which we see on a daily basis. I work days and that's why you'll see my posts listed in the early evenings.

One of the first things I am looking forward to (when I get back to the real world) is getting some pic.'s posted of my BMW's... I'll have them on the Board in April.

"Happy Motoring"
