Update

Sent email to my agent regarding this news about CD player behind navigation screen and reminded him we vetoed Navigation because he said we couldn't have CD access from inside car, trunk only. Well, he's off today but one of the Dealership Managers just called me and said you guys know what you are talking about and they just learned of it themselves, no problem to change order...which I did...yipppeeee!!! Thanks to all again.

Is it possible to get Navigation even though I've already bought my car? :(

If so, what would be the cost?

And, if I leased my vehicle will I have to remove the Navigation when I return the car?

1) Yes. Pay enough and I could turn your car into a dualie if you want.....

2) Astronomical, way more than $1800 factory cost. Not sure exactly. I would bet $3000+....

3) You wouldn't HAVE to, but if you just handed the car over, I don't think you would get anything back for it.

I did see the add-on navigation for the BMW 3 and it looks like crap IMO. They add it in the compartment above the ash tray/lighter. If you did not get it as original equipment I would look for some portable system if that will get you by and give you the directions you need.

the way the screen flips down to load the cd's way too cool.

my only gripe w/ the nav system is the color scheme. w/ the seemingly nice color 16:9 aspect lcd, they dull it w/ pukey colors and doing a full time split just to give you directions. i much rather like the japanese implementation of the nav systems..

i'm not missing it too much on my car, (both my parents' and sister's car has nav) but its hard to go back to a non-nav car if you spend some time w/ the nav system. 1800 is a bit too steep for me tho ^^;;
