Question about BMW Owner's Circle Accuracy

Hi all,

I was hoping some of you could share your experiences with dealing with the BMW Owner's Circle website.

I finally got the production # for my new 330ci [:D] and I logged on to owner's circle to track the status. It currently says "Scheduled for or In Production". How long should I expect it to stay in this status?

Also, there is an option on the website where you can review the order detail. When I check mine I don't see all the factory installed options that I ordered. I see Cold Weather Package, Xenon, Moonroof & Navigation. I do not see the Performance Package. Has anybody else here that's ordered a 330 ZHP noticed this also? Should I be concerned?

Any insight you guys could share about order tracking would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks ThinkingBMW!

I just called the 800 number and spoke to a representative. To my surprise, he informed me that the car has been produced and has already reached the port of exit [thumb], with all the options I ordered.

My experience a year ago, and others have posted more recently, is that the Owner's Circle is generally at least 7 days up to 14 days behind real-time.

Now that it's built, you can track it's delivery status and find out what boat it's on. If they said it's at the port of exit, it should be in the shipping database.

(sorry, the first time I posted the link it was broken, it's fixed now)

Select Auto, Enter your VIN as the Cargo ID, Track

my car was ordered on feb 1st, this past saturday, 3/6, the car was unloaded in new jersey. the owners circle site says that it is at teh port of exit awaiting a shipping vessel. I have no clue what is going on and i dont feel like calling the salesguy to find out. So, i am just patiently waiting. So far it has been a relativley quick procedure and i am pretty happy but i just really want to get teh dam car so i can sell my A4

If W&W has no record of your car, chances are it's being shipping by BMW's alternative carrier, NYK lines. They don't allow cargo tracking for non-customers; but, if you know the date it was shipped from Bremerhaven and your port of entry, you should be able to figure out the ship and track its progress from:

I agree with Kirby. I ordered my 325i back in January and found the oc to be at least 4-7 days behind. My car was on the Takasago half way across the Atlantic by the time the owner's circle said it was en route. Its supposed to dock in NJ 3/14. I've sold my A4 and am transferring it to the buyer on 3/20. I hope my 325i makes it to the dealer by then!

I am having a problem just logging into the owners circle. It keeps telling me that my vin# is wrong....any ideas.
Could be your car is being shipped by NYK (see my earlier post above).

Ask your dealer to do a "vehicle inquiry," and look under "shipping info."

Definately double-check with the dealer on the performance package.

I spoke with my dealer and also with a representative from BMW North America and my car will definitely have the Performance Package. For some reason though, the option is not listed on Owner's Circle. I guess the website is not very comprehensive.

I just tried calling the 800 # previously posted as a thread and it is even less accurate than the online owners circle! I called the dealer yesterday and they said I should be getting it today (Tuesday). Online Owner's Circle said it is in Final Processing Center - next stop = my dealer. The 1-800 number told me it was awaiting transport?!

In my experience so far, the 800 number is totally worthless. Last week it was reporting that my car was "in transit" and this week it's saying it's "awaiting transit." [?|]

According to my dealer, the car should have arrived at the VPC last Wednesday and he still can't figure out where it is. I'm pretty sure it was on a NYK ship that left Bremerhaven on 2/16 and docked in Long Beach on Sunday (6 days later than originally scheduled). The Owner's Circle still reports "in transit."

My best guess is that the car is at the VPC in Oxnard and they just haven't gotten around to updating the status.

For me, the 1-800 number was extremely accurate up until it shipped. Once shipped, it was no longer any good. I was able to track my car at the WW shipping web site using my VIN. The OC site was usually a day or so behind the 1-800 number. However, like your experience, once my car reached Charleston, the OC site said my car was in Final Processing for about a week. Then, this past Sunday, I logged on and it said my car was at the dealer. I didn't really believe it, but I drove down just to check and sure enough it was in the back and had apparently just been unloaded the day before (it was still all wrapped up).

My dealership just called, my car arrived yesterday!! I am going to pick it up tonight after work, probably 6:30 EST. Too bad its a rainy day here!! But - to give you an update on the Owner's Circle, it still says "In Final Processing Center". I have found that it is moderately accurate, but usually a day off. It seems to be somewhat accurate up until it arrives at the US destination.
