I hate honda.
I don't even consider that car a honda since the accords that are on US shores are practically made in the US. The Accord in Japan is the TSX here- same thing goes with the new TL- I don't like that car at all because it's not an authentic Honda. If the Accord that AWD330XI raced was a sedan, even I would eat up that car on a straight although it has 56 more hp than me- regardless whether it may be a stick. If it were a 6 speed manual coupe however, there's no way that AWD330XI would've won unless the driver in the accord didn't know how to drive. Car and Driver got a 5.9 sec 0-60 and a 14.5 sec quarter mile at 98 mph out of the 6 speed Accord coupe, so it's pretty quick. On the track (where it counts), however, I doubt that an Accord can out-handle a BMV.

But take your BMW and his Camaro to an SCCA Autocross event and compare times. Your BMW WILL KICK HIS BUTT!!

Not necessarily. There is a specific SS out here going to SCCA that would cause you to change that opinion. Well it also helps that he runs massive sticky compound tires and has plenty of seat time in his SS. The thing is mean. [thumb] I wouldn't want that sneaking up on me at night. Unless I was armed with my Honda (CBR954RR) [:D] The only Honda product I will ever own. [wave] [burnout]

AWD probably helped, driver ability another factor. The road test results at the back of Motor Trend are interesting, they show 0 to 60 times for the 330i at 6.7 seconds (5 speed auto), 330i PP at 6.1 seconds ((6 speed manual), and 330xi at 5.8 seconds (5 speed manual). Interesting. Regardless, impressive performance!

The other driver had a coupe. I smoked him four straight times and he admitted it. He bragged that he beat many fast cars. What else can I say? [:D]

The 330xi is faster than the 330i pp!?!?!? I find that hard to believe, since the car has a lot more weight, even if all wheels are gripping.

Buy also remember last year when Motor Trend reported the 330i as faster than the 330i ZHP. It's a fact-thats what they claimed. [???1]

I will see if I can find the thread.

I remember that motor trend article. Even they were surprised at the time they ran. I wonder how they got the car and suspect there was a little "tinkering" done, knowing it was going to a magazine.

I have a Step 330XI and have raced a few new V6 Honda Accords myself. I raced a v6 auto coupe from about 40-50 mph and it seemed to SLOWLY be pulling away from me, up to 70 mph. I didnt really expect to beat him, but i was of course upset that a HONDA ACCORD was pulling away from my precious BMW. Weeks later, i managed to line up a v6 sedan at a stoplight and took him by 2-3 cars, noticing my car gets a big jump to 30 mph bc of AWD traction while his front wheels are spinning alot at the start. From 30 mph on the Accord sedan does manage to gain ground but at 80 mph i remain 2 cars ahead. As far as the coupe, im waiting to catch one at stoplight. My guess is that a manual with a good driver would beat my auto 330xi, but an auto would be a nice race. Auto accords, coupe and sedan, from what ive read run 0-60 anywhere about 6.6 (coupe) and 7.0 for sedan. Ive hand timed my 330xi, with 1 passenger, and consistently got 0-60 of around 6.65-6.9, on 3 different flat open roads.

Ill race my 330xi against an auto accord ANY DAY. the Manual, now thats another story.

On several different issues (Motortrend), they stated that the 2004 BMW Z4 3.0 SMG did 0-60 in 6.1 seconds. Then in an other issue two months later they stated that the same car did the 0-60 run in 7.2 seconds. What gives? I canceled my subsciption. They always do that crap, there issues (most of the time) conflict with each other. So I decided to go with Road & Track.
