Hello, I am in the market for a new car as soon as I get my lemon case from VW settled, and I was considering a 330Ci ZHP package. My question is, what are some of the deals that you guys have been getting, and how much can I expect to haggle down in price considering that the 06 lineup is arriving? I visited the dealership once already and the guy tried to pressure me into a 330ci zhp for a $1000 monthly payment... and I was amazed that they would even try to do such a thing. One of the reasons being is that my credit is not built yet and I would be using a co-signer when the time is right. Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated because I absoleutely fell in love with the car when I test drove it, and I honestly think its 100 times better than a G35 which is my 2nd choice, if the price is too high on the 330. [cheers]

When are the '06s arriving?

I would wager to guess that you should be able to get a 330ci ZHP for about $42,500 or $43,000 with enough bargaining, especially since you say that the 06 models are on their way.

I got my 330ci (non ZHP) for $44,000 way back in 2003 when the facelift had newly arrived and they were offering no discounts. So I think by now you should be able to get a better deal than that.

Good luck and remember that the 330ci will always be better than the G35, which is not a bad car but is nothing compared to the former...

When it comes down to it, if you can absolutely afford it, go for it! You'll never regret it...

Well if you can't go for a 330ci because of price, I'd get into a 325ci, at least it still has that same amazing chassis to play with, albeit at a little performance cost. BMW ROCKS! *ahem*

I did european delivery in March and paid $1050 over ED invoice for my 325CIc...I would expect about the same price now, but maybe a better BMWFS interest rate. You should be able to get the same deal for anything left on the lot now (about $1k over US invoice)

Damn, that sucks... I really dont want to get into a 325 due to the power loss, personally I would prefer power over luxury, and I cant afford anything over 40k. The G35 still has a decent interior with nearly 300hp to back it up for under 40k. I guess I will need to get into a 325Ci and see how it differs from the 330 ZHP auto that I test drove, but I have a feeling I wont be happy with it. [mad]

On a side note, I was also considering a 01 CLK 55, they run about 33-38k and have an amazing powerplant. [scratch]

Well then, how about the prices on a 325Ci? What should I expect to pay for one of those? I did the whole Edmonds/CarsDriect thing and sent in a quote request. So far I got one response with the following details -

2005 BMW 325ci Manual
Titanium Silver
Black Leather Interior
Sport Package
Power Front Seats
Heated Seats
Xenon Adaptive Headlights
Harmon-Kardon Sound System

MSRP $38,290.00
Internet Sale Price 36,735.00

It seems like a decent deal but then again I havent really looked at the 325Ci so I dont know what they are going for right now.

If you're into power you will be dissapointed with the 325Ci/c.

And I don't think you will be able to get a 330Ci/c these days for under 40k, that would be a fantasy. [hihi]

Personally, I would get the G35 coupe if I were in your position.

However, go ahead and test drive the 325Ci (you might be able to get one under 40k) and maybe you'll like it!

Best of luck... [wave]

Oh yea, I was "racing" a G35 coupe down a long street in downtown Houston today...

There was plenty of traffic but that guy was just swerving in and out of it like noone's business...that is until he found a cop and slowed down to the speed limit. HEHE...!

If there had been no cop and no traffic, I would like to think that I would've beat him!

Maybe next time!

So why not buy an '04 or '03 that is CPO?? Get the 330 and miss the huge depreciation factor when you drive a new one off the lot, but still get an excellent warranty.

I paid $38K for my '03 330Cic with 13,500 miles on it - It was nearly 50K new=no brainer.

I've seen '04 330Ci's for around $34k

Yeah now that I know I have no chance of getting a 05 330Ci, I was looking into the 03-04's and the prices arent too shabby. One question, did they offer a ZHP in 04? because I noticed one or 2 330's in the 38-39k range, used, had the Performance package and it seems as if its the same as the 05 one. But the CPO's I am definitely taking into consideration, it just seems as if 225hp still isnt THAT much...

Im not a street racer or anything, but has anyone ever came across a G35 on the highway or anywhere with thier 330? How did they compare?

They aren't comparable - sit in a 330 then sit in a G35, it'll be clear. Honestly, i think G35's are ugly just like every other Infinity.. I know some people like them, but I just don't see any style to them at all.
But if you want HP, then go with the G35.

Well I think MrElussive has said in the past that in a straight away his G35 coupe came up short against a 330Ci??? That's what I remember...

Personally, I think they are almost very similar in terms of pick up. It would be a real close race.

The ZHP was not offered for the '04 models, only the '05s. And trust me, 225hp may not seem like alot, but that is the reason BMW is so special. That 225 hp seems like 300 hp to me when I'm driving, it is truely remarkable.

Definitely go for an '03 or '04 330Ci if your heart is set on BMW, you will NOT regret it!

I think that if you get the G35 you will always feel a little regretful that you didn't get the BMW...

Good luck! [wave]

Yeah, I have already driven both and I fell in love with the 330, everything is just that much better, but that was a fully loaded 05 330Ci including ZHP. How does a 03-04 differ from the 05 models? any significant changes?

The 03 are different looking in appearance because they were before the face lift.

The 04 and 05 look exactly the same.

And the 03,04, and 05 models are all the same in terms of everything else.

330cic

I just had to get in here on this - go for the 330. I picked up an '04 convertible, for 43K incidentally and I am in loooove! She has the performance package - 235 HP - and a growl tuned in to the engine that simply challenges the world! On a straightaway I keep up but get me on a curve and you will not keep up. With the 18 inch wheels she hugs the road to the point that I had to learn to let go and not brake.

Lexus or BMW? SAAB or BMW? Acura or BMW? No contest. This car was built for the driver to enjoy!

And I do...you should, too...

I just traded in my '04 325i silver/grey for a used '04 330ci apline white/tan with 15,000 miles. I think i got a great deal on the 330ci and only paid $31,900. It is fully loaded with every thing expect a 6 disc changer. I can feel the power difference of the 325 and 330. I will probably never goback to the 325 and stick with the 330. if i was you i wouldnt go for the 325 bc you will always to telling yourself i should have goten the 330

Just to clear up one of the posts (sorry :S) the '03 coupe models are also the new model as they were released later in the year so look for '03 models as well if you're trying to get a good deal - they would most likely have slightly more mileage on them so you can probably pick them up cheaper.

WOW, a 04' 330Ci fully loaded for $31,900? thats the kind of deal I need to find... I didnt think they got that low... Im considering a 350Z as well, because I can get them for cheap and it would be brand new also.

Check the august '05 issue of Automobile magazine... it has a comparison of 330i and G35. It's the new 330 though, but it might be a similar situation with the E46 330.

same problem but fixed

I had the same problem as 3 rotor. I have always driven german. (my family worked for the other german bmw competitor) so I love the ride. I checked into the g35. Nice car, if it is your thing , fine. The problem is the used market on the car is weak compared to what I find the 330ci to be selling for. I looked into clk 320conv, e55 (nice car just didn't want to pony the $) s4 and 330ci. My real choice was a 540i 02 sport 6speed, but I drive 2 miles to take the train to NY, so I couldn't get one at the right price.

so today I made up my mind. Bought a 02 330ci: 5 speed, sport, nav, moonroof, cold weather, loaded. 31000 miles, factory warrenty till may 06 and cpo through 08.
$27,900. which in my area is a good deal. 3.%9 bmw financing. you could get a 325 cheaper, but i believe in bigger engines the better. go which the 330ci or conv
