Most BMW's are made in Germany, and then sold all over Europe. There was a post on here a while back about a person who purchased a BWM and took the European delivery. He said it was hard to find gas with octain over 87, some gas he purchade was 84 octan. So if they don't have much 93 octain in Europe why do we need to put it in our cars.

He is not being honest with you. While Eurpoe uses the RON method and we use Mon and RON combined, or AKI index. An AKI index of 91US is equivalent of RON 95 octane in Europe. Here are some links on the subject. SBC
