30-40. Traffic totally drags my number down. And I just found out that Lane 1 of one of the freeways I travel on was apparently installed in 10 foot chunks... unevenly. I felt like I was on a seesaw driving through that lane.
Hey gizzy, wow, this is scary. Mine's at 29.3. Chicago here, too. Right on, as much as I love this city, traffic is a nightmare. And some of the roads in the city are horrendous. I'm talking like war-zone style roads. Ever drive down South Pulaski? Pot-holes as big as kitchen tables; sewers 7 inches deep into the asfault; pieces of road that jut out at at 30 degree angles....
I live about 2 miles off the highway and my work is also about 2 miles from the highway. Coupled that with about 25 miles highway at 80mph and I get 40+ mph average. [driving2]
Guess this shows that my wife really does have a heavy foot. When she's driving the car it averages about 22mpg. When I drive the car I get about 28 - 29mpg.
