I use the shortcut way for Rain-X...buy the Rain-X brand windshield wash. Every time you spray it, it applies a thin layer of Rain-X as it washes the windshield. It beads up amazingly well!

I too need new wipers. Thanks for posting your experiences!

I did not know Rain-X made wipers and washer fluid. Got to check if us canucks carry those items in our car parts stores. I am a little concerned using this fluid, since I have the high-pressure headlight washers on my ride and the front part of the car gets drenched in it. Could this damage the painted surfaces?

I don't think that the windshield wash is that concentrated that it would harm the car's finish. I've never had any problem with the fluid on my A-pillar finish or even the convertible top for that matter as my windshield jets blast the fluid so hard it ricochets to the top.

I picked up the windshield wash at Walmart.
