Inline design is very efficient as well as FWD
RWD has more parasitic drive losses because your turning a drive shaft and the diff is at the end of the car....6ft+ away from the motor...
A Maxima is quick and 265 in a fwd car should be 225whp or so however the new nissan motor is putting down nice power and some 350z's which are 280hp are putting down 240-256whp stock....so 220 would be the low end value for a Maxima
Hp to weight and gearing determines 0-60 POTENTIAL.....traction, driver, road conditions will effectively drive the 0-60 up because to reach 100% potential conditions have to be PERFECT...such is hardly ever the case with a real world drag race
I would say if the Bimmer has 225 and the Maxima is 265 other factors will effect the outcome....driver is a big one...traction is the next one and launch
WHo ever launches harder will probably win but I suspect once the speeds increase the maxima will pull away the higher the speed...it just has more power with similar weight...plain physics
Wonder if my 210hp Civic could "hang"
