Sorry, MyHarley, but I'm right. The 2003 3-series Coupes and Convertibles only had the 18" wheels available as an ACCESSORY, never as an OPTION that you can just click on. If you go to bmwusa.com now, it is for 2004 3-series Coupes and Convertibles. The 2004 models now have available 18" wheel OPTION. Never argue with me when I KNOW I'm right. [boxface]

And how many of the 2003 330s did YOU ACTUALLY BUY? There are at least 3 people in this thread (MyHarley, Kenzopvfl, myself) who went through the ordering / buying process of this car and its factory installed options, including factory wheel options. YOU ARE WRONG...You THINK you are right, but you are WRONG.

I don't think MrElussive gets it.

FYI - BMW's are shipped from the factory with spacers on the suspension that limit its movement. If the local dealer forgets to remove these it makes the car very stiff and can damage the suspension and tires in a very short period of time. I know this because I took a test drive in a car that did not have them removed. Very harsh. You don't notice it much below 30 mph. Just a thought.

Re: OFFICIAL ASSESSMENT

MyHarley said:
The dealership has stated that strictly the tires have failed. The car passed the line test and no damage has been done to the vehicle. They also feel that the car is safe to drive and only that the tires are showing uneven wearing which is causing the vibration. They also state that it will take two to three weeks for the new tires to come in from the manufacturer (Dunlop). When the tires come in, they will retest the wheels at that time to make sure they are rounded with the new tires.

The BMWUSA.com website also lists the 18" wheels as a option for the comment earlier that stated they were not an option on the 2003 models.

Ok...first off...I own a 2002 330i with the sports package & have the 18" Double Spoke Compsite Stye Alloy Wheels...But they are 68s not 71 style!

I have these...68s:

These are the 71s:

So which ones do you have?

Second problem is that you have Dunlops! As far as I know...BMW has preference to Continental Conti Sport Conti...that is what I have on my car. Those are what are on M3s.

Mr Elusive

I believe you are wrong. See Edmunds.com 18" is an option with the Sport Package. Anyway how is the G35 so far?

789 18" M Alloy Wheels w/ Upgraded Tires
Includes 18" x 8" front and 18" x 8.5" rear alloy wheels, P225/40R18 front, P255/35R18 rear high performance tires and space saver spare tire. (Space-saver spare tire replaces full size spare tire). REQUIRES ZSP.

I can admit I am wrong, but I like to configure 3-series from the BMW web site all the time, and I never remember seeing an 18" wheel and tire option for the 2003 330Ci Convertible (or Coupe). If you guys say it is, then fine, I'm willing to believe that.
Wally, my G35 Coupe is kicking ass. The power and the handling are superb, and the car is visually stunning. At first, I was reluctant to get a Japanese car, but now I am glad I did as I will never have any of BMW's ridiculous problems, such as what has happened to MyHarley's 330CiC...my G35 Coupe just works (sorry if that offends anyone).

The top wheels are the standard sport package wheels for 2003.

The bottom are the optional 18" wheel for 2004.

If I could figure out how to post a picture I would show the wheels Harley and I have.

I have entered the file but it will not load.

You probably need to save it with a lower resolution, or allow compression. If your software supports it, try Save As and select JPG. Then look for an option that sets higher compression/less detail. I hope that made sense!

I have the same car with grey interior.

On the subject of tires for BMW, there are two issues that determine what type of tires you get on your car.

One is the location of the plant and two, what companies bid on each tire order. All convertibles are assembled in Regensburg, Germany. As a result tire plants that are close bid on each tire purchase. That is why you will find Dunlop, Michelin and Continental in a rotation from that factory.

It is just chance that determines what tires you get.

Add Goodyear Eagles to that list. [:0] I was surprised to see them on the car. They do say "Made in Germany" on the side. And since I did the Euro Delivery program, I KNOW they were put on at the factory. No chance for a dealer substitution!
