Don't just drag him, go a step further, you have to get into the twisties, that is where the BMW shines, you will see he won't be able to keep up.

You're gonna have a rough time if he's a good stick driver. The auto 325 is pretty slow. 8.1 sec which is Camry V6 speed. It's gonna come down to driver skill. Most people I encounter can't shift that fast.

It will be very very close. I agree with bmw046series. Just do not drag him you might loose becasue he is running on about 215 HP while your 325i is running about 184 HP. You will dominate however in the small mountian type raods. That is where BMW dominates truely the Ultimate Driving Machine.

If you are both stock cars - The IS300 is going to outpace you every time with a manual vs BMW auto - as long as he has a clue about shifting. IS300's are neck and neck with 325 manuals with times - Even up top they (IS's) are solid cars.

Without some modding on your part - it's going to be IS every time unless there are some twisties in there that let the true heart of the BMW shine.

An NSX would outperform both the S2000 and WRX....twisties or straight. :)

C'mon...these cars are not in the same class as the IS300 or 325i.

true. well, i guess i have the bad habbit of looking at both the type of car and the price together- only because, to me, that seems more fair. (the is, 325, s2, and wrx all fall in the 33k to 40k range, whereas the nsx is well over 100k.) but, yah, they are not the same class cars in the technical sense.

The MSRP of a 2005 NSX was $89k. Most were sold for low $80s with a $7500 dealer credit. Most of the NSXs in this country are early NA1 coupes, 1991-1994, and sell for around $30k. (And worth every penny).

Please, put down the crack pipe.

"The best sports car the world has ever produced. Any time. Any place. Any price."

"We've been over a century developing the automobile. The Acura NSX has made it worth the wait. This is more than just a new mid-engine hyper-performing super-advanced rocketship, exotic sports car. The NSX goes far beyond that. In the way it utilizes the best available engineering practices of its time toward the concept of the possibilities of all the things a car can do for its occupants, the NSX has just become the standard for the world.

"The Acura NSX is a stunning achievement of the pursuit of excellence, a brilliant display of the genius of simple elegance, a marvelous mixing of advanced technology with the fundamental concept of Car.

We've spent over 100 years developing the automobile. After driving the NSX, it's been worth the wait."

Yo, a used NSX costs less than a Bimmer....a friend of mine bought one for $20k. They're not impossible to afford. Personally I wouldn't get one because of the disgusting Minnesota weather (which is why I'm on the BMW forum....awaiting my 330xi once I get tired of my IS300).
