We always get screwed. I was excited over the summer when it went down to $1.80 a gallon, but it has gone up $.10 in 10 days!!!! At this rate it will be like $3.00 by labor day! This sucks!
It is always the highest in Alaska, CA, and Nevada. CA I can understand because of the whole Clean Air act and whatnot, Las Vegas is way the hell out in the middle of nowhere, but Alaska. That is where a shit load of oil comes from!
Las Vegas gas prices are a joke. I think it is even a lower grade than premium in some other states. 91 is the highest premium here, 92 is considered premium in some states and is a lower price and provided by the same compainies, Chevron, Texaco...
Back east in NY 93 and 94 octane premium is available. Because our crap comes from CA we get 91 in Las Vegas. It was 92 until about a year and a half ago when one of the oil companies wanted royalties due the patent on the 92 octane gas being shipped thru the pipeline. The other oil companies refused to pay so the gas was downgraded to 91. In order to get 93 octane here you have to use a mix of 25% Union 76 competition 100 gas. This is a necessity to avoid pinging and/or loss of power when the temps rise over 100 degrees especially when using a performance chip. Knock sensors cut back the power. In Henderson I paid $2.07 today for 91. The Comp 100 gas has been steady all summer @ $3.959. It's already too high.
Just try to find supreme in Phoenix right now! I went to 8 gas stations before I could find supreme today, and I really have my doubts if it was really supreme.
I'm sure that the Arizona problem is affecting Nevada and California, I apologize for the dick-for-brains folks that have screwed the situation!

Almost all of the 76 stations. It is right next to the diesel pump. I use the one on Warm Springs and Marks near Sunset Station Casino. I also use one on Decatur, South of Tropicana. So far the price is the same in all, $3.959 a gallon. I use a 25% mix to yield a 93 octane.
