I go to college now, I just finished my second year. I had to park my car outside several days a year. I just always parked in the corner and took up two spaces (got a few parking tickets, but it was worth the safety) and I never had a problem. I guess I got lucky, but I can tell you that if something DID happen to my car, I'd hunt down and kill the trucker that ever hurt my baby. It's one thing to harm the car and leave a note....it's quite another to do damage and just bounce.

You actually look forward to college? I hate to think about college, and don't intend on going at all in my life. Yeah you may think, then you will not get a career!

My Moms the GM at a Hilton hotel, and im sure a GM could get me in the door, and possibly i could become the next GM, or a GM at a different hotel [rolleyes]

Oh and is being labeled a spoiled kid bad? Us "spoiled" kids have more fun. All the rich kids in school are mainly the popular, stuck up kids, which everyone wishes they could be [idea]

I use to hang out with the poor kids and they have no fun at all. Us "rich kids" don't have to work, and if we fail or mess up, we could just fall back on our parents, no big deal. I would die if i actaully had to start work at 16, and manage good grades! But it usually ends, the cool kids always make more money and always are more successful, which is shit because the people that really try get stuck with jobs that pay 60-90k a year [werd]
Man - wait a minute, I mean "boy" - your mommy or daddy needs to spank your bratty little ass. And if your parents don't think so, someone needs to slap them upside the head. Maybe mommy can get you in the door at the Hilton mopping the floors. That's all you'll ever amount to with your present attitude. I grew up in a very affluent setting, but my father was wise enough to instill a very rigid and serious work ethic in me. I was working in a steel plant when I was 15, paid for all my miscellaneous high school, college, and grad school expenses with various concurrent jobs. You need to choke on a serious dose of reality, young man. You can exercise a bit of wisdom and do it now while living in the comfort of your parents' shadow, or you can do it later in life, on your own out in the real world. Either way, it'll happen.

Between this post and the one about never pumping gas again, you're going to have a hard, hard life.

Hey Blue...I would guess that you and I are very close to the same age and you may have noticed the same things about people that you went to school with as I have noticed.

First, those that were lazy and spoiled brats went on to live horrible lives. Not to say that everyone that came from money fits this profile but I think you know the kind of person that I am talking about.

Second, some of the least popular, those that were considered “geeks”, seem to have achieved SOME of the greatest wealth and personal fulfillment. I remember a saying I heard somewhere, “in school they called us geeks, today they call us millionaires.”

Third, the people that I went to school with that are successful doctors, attorneys, engineers, and business people were generally not spoiled lazy brats, even though some came from considerable wealth.

Forth, of those people that have died that I went to school with, three were from the wealthiest families that could never get it together (again, not a entirely a money generalization but motivation and achievement factors as well) died very miserable lives by 30. One committed suicide in his parent’s living room, another went to prison for drugs, got out and overdosed, and a third turned into a hooker and ran into a problem.

It is interesting the stories that time tells.

Right on target. If BMW_FaNaTiC doesn't realize a paradigm shift pretty soon, he'll be one of those young adults who has been arrested for pot possession, arrested on DUI, flipped over dad's 911, burned half the family house down, and gotten a girl pregnant, all by the time he's 21.

none of this is directed at you

you don't control the path the thread takes...the board (and ultimately the moderators) control it....just roll with it.

Blue, ROFL, we are both from Scottsdale Az! HAHA, then you must know this town is very wealthy, and im not to only "bratty rich kid" that lives here.

Actually your all wrong. You are sterotyping what a "snotty brat kid" is. I am none of those things. I have tried pot before, but im not a pot head. And you would be lieing too if you said you never tried pot. I don't have any negative attitude about my life, where as to i would burn my house down, or commit suicide.

And, im not even as wealthy as you all are thinking i am.

Nows My turn to be sterotypical
From what ive seen, everyone that comes from a rich family is better looking. Ive never see a smart and good looking person. Second, all of the cool kids that get bad grades in school have i see grow up being more successful then the smart people, why i dunno, it just happens.

And the freakin gas incident, which i regret sharing, has over 1000 views already. Boy i feel stupid

Feedback: Buy what you want. [thumb] Especially given that money is not an issue. Look at it like this-if you want reliability go with Lexus or something along this line (Toyota...Acura...maxed V6 Accord). For fun go with BMW, even a used M3 if you want, and if it breaks down just get it fixed. It’s not that big of a deal if you have the cash.

If you were stretched for cash and needed something to get you through graduate school economically I would say a new Civic or Corolla. In your situation it appears that this is not the case.

Nothing too personal meant - I don't even know you. All I'm saying is that you have a very "sheltered" view of the world at this point in your life. If you continue with the preconcieved notions that you've displayed on this thread, there's a high probability that you'll end up like the stereotype I described. Will you for sure? Who the hell knows! But those of us who have seen it happen know that it happens. Simple as that. Hell, I'm young too, but I'll still bet I'm twice your age. There's no replacement for plain old life experience. Take it for what it's worth.

Oh, and SOT, I already gave you my feedback. Go for a CPO 325i with sport package. Forget the premium. A 330i will just get you in more trouble. If all you care about is performance stats, then don't even test drive a BMW...you won't understand it. Just go with a lime green Dodge Neon RT whatever. Cool?

[/B]Funny S*$T-

Blue you're right on, just what I said 15 posts ago regarding SOT.

SOT - How much more advice do you need, just go buy the car and get it over with - you already know what you want. There is a huge consensus on this thread (BMW 325/330 for quality german performance - get it!). Re-read the posts and stop whinning!

The BMW_Fin.. doesn't even deserve the time of day - get a life and grow up a little, his discussion belong on an aol chat with other 15/16 year olds. (I can hear him now; "I'm acctually 17"! ha ha ha.

SOT - you sound a lot more level headed, but as I said, just do it.

i will be 18 in september

Oh well, i get this alot. People like to diss me becasue i have it easy, so i just take it as they are jealous of me. I didn't do anything to you people. And just for your information, im not the only onei n the world like this. Blue, you should know first, that scottsdale is full of kids like me, and we are rated the WORST state for driving, so our insurance is all more then any other state. MY whole high school was stupid, and lacked talent. We never won a football game, but we would say to them "atleast we drive better cars then you :p" because they came from the shitty part of scottsdale.

and who ever said sumthing like even if your mom could get you in, you'd be a janitor, boy you are so wrong. Even in todays society, it doesn't matter where you went to college, or what you know, its all about "Who you know" to open the door for you, and in womens case "WHO you ......"( Edited by a moderator)

I could get a job their now is almost any department. The first month they have to start you at $7.50, but after the month, my mom can bring my pay to the max of $17.50. Plus my mom would get a refferal because she recommended someone to work for the hotel.

But i have no time to work, maybe when im 21, ill think about it.

Oh and thanks for sharing my freaking newbie gas story with another fourm. I would only care if you saw me and knew its me, but its internet, the only one close to me is BLUE, and whats he gonna do to me? Tell my mom im a i need a whack in the ass? [rofl] [rofl]

BMW_Fanatic, you started on the wrong foot on this forum and on this thread. SOT just wanted car advice and all of a sudden you whipped out your ridiculous views on college...chill out, dude. If you have your future lined up and you're happy with it, that's cool and I'm happy for you, but don't insult everyone else's future paths. Stop talking about wealth and money and having an easy life, not everybody shares your views on life and this is a BMW forum (where we don't talk about that random stuff, except for General Chat).

To the forum, stop going apeshit whenever a kid's parents are buying him a car and he wants some advice. I'm tired of seeing kids having to act like they don't deserve to live just because their parents are nice enough to get them a car to drive. For those of us who's parents pay for our car, it's all relative...my grandfather bought my dad a car, my dad got me a car, and I will get my kid(s) a car(s), assuming I am lucky enough to afford that for my child(ren). Tomorrow afternoon I'm going car shopping with a friend who currently drives a 2002 X5 4.4i, who is getting a new car and gets to choose among a Cayenne Turbo, Mercedes G55 AMG, and Mercedes E55 AMG, no joke. There is no limit to what youngens are driving these days and maybe they didn't pay for it, but I'm sure all the kids appreciate it and they really don't need any shit for it from fellow forum members. Just roll with it and give them the advice they need. [burnout]

SOT, Premium Package doesn't affect the car's reliability. All BMW's are reliable, just make sure to properly maintain it and change the oil every 7,500 miles. In all honesty, the only problem with used cars is that when you buy the car, you buy the car's problems with it. This is why I suggested starting with a brand-new Subaru Impreza WRX or the MINI Cooper S...basically a car that is fun-to-drive, reliable, in your price range, and is brand-spankin-new. This way you have the car from day 1 and you can treat it how you like and you know everything the car has been through (whereas with a used car, you don't really know how the car was driven and what it has been through).

I agree with the MInI Cooper suggestion, I just wish they'd move the speedomter behind the steering wheel like all other normal cars.

You don't get it, but that's not surprising. People aren't dissing you cuz they're jealous, they're dissing you cuz you're unbelievably sheltered and clueless, yet incredibly arrogant.

No, you're not the only spoiled kid in this world. I'm one too. Parents paid for my cars outright. My Bimmer is on a "loan" which I'm supposed to pay back when I can. A 0% interest loan is practically a gift. Other stuff too that I don't wish to get into. Basically, I could be considered spoiled rotten too.

The difference is I don't shove it in people's faces. That's incredibly crude and a sign of horrendous parenting. In case you don't understand, I'm referring to the "at least we drive better cars th[a]n you" remark. Someone with any sort of class would never make a remark like that.

Yeah, so what if your mom can get you a job at the hotel, even at $17.50 an hour. She's also putting her ass on the line to do so. You screw up, and considering your previous posts, that's almost certain, then it makes her look incredibly bad for hiring you... particularly if she gave you an outrageous raise a month in and with you having no experience whatsoever. Your liable to screw up her job in addition to yours, particularly if you pull that attitude at work.

Finally, if you insist on having a spoiled rotten attitude, at least wait til you're rich before doing so. Otherwise you just look like a complete fool. Dude, your mom still works. If she's still working, you're not rich enough to act like you do.
