Can you guy give me some suggestion what I can do about this salesman mistreating me ..This guy did nothing for me period once I placed the order on the car , never call me on anything, it was me calling him for every single thing. Then at the end when I went to pick up my car, I wasnt happy about the finance putting me on 5 yrs which I wanted 3yrs .. So at the end the salesman say if you are not happy you dont have to get the car, and I say what bout the money i down on it, he say im gonna lose all 9,000 which i downed then left the office. I was so upset didnt know wat to do , then I recall that if I change my mind I would only lose 1,000 ... So I argued about that issue with him , finally he said oh yea, you just lose 1,000. It was like the worst day ever, All I wanted to do is pick my car up and go home, then this guy got the nerve to ask me to give him a high score on the survey..
Just picked my car last wk, and I dont know if it was worth it to go through all this, or maybe i can just give the car back to them ..and get it from someoneelse who will maybe give me better service...
Im just so frustrated , and cant stop thinking about it.. [:(]

I had a bad experience once too, im 20 but this happened a year ago, its not uncommon for a teen to have a bmw but i guess this guy was upset i had one. see i didnt go to my regular dealership where im friends with my service advisor instead i went to the dealership closest to work, and the service advisor i got was mad that i had my car and he treated my like an idiot he just really got me mad, like he promised the 1 hour work would be done in 3, i knew it was one but i said fine... ur busy i understand, then he never called, i called about 4 hours after and the work hadnt been started, but he said it was about to be... i called 2 hours after that... thats 6 hours after i dropped it off, and nothing! he didnt want to take my call... so i went over there and asked him... i sat in his desk and waited because i saw him duck into an office when i got there and he saw me so i sat in his desk and waited... he came about 10 minutes later and said my car wasnt ready, id have to leave it overnight...for an oil change mind you, so i told him im taking my car get my keys... he goes ok, but first... bmw might call you all i ask is that you say 5 to every... before he finished i got up and went for the car... i was so upset. needless to say i only stick my the other dealership and the great service advisor i have there... thank God for Ivan...

oh... ya wait i was supposed to answer your question, in answer... do what i did... when they call for the survey, or if they dont then call them, tell them that your answer is 1 or 0 if possible, then just leave your statement, if the person who calls is helpful, theyll give you a number you can call to resolve any issues you have with the service you recieved but at the very least you get to tell bmw that the guy who sold you the car is incompitent.

The salesman works for someone, the General Sales Manager, the dealership owner. Have you spoke with them about the issue? Why did you sign the contract for five years if you only wanted three? The Federal Truth in Lending Act protects you regarding financing. They cannot force you to take a five year contract if that is not your choice. However if you have signed a contract it is generally a done deal. About your down payment, did you sign a sales agreement the day you placed the down? What does it say?

Did you ever talk with the sales manager concerning the salesman? I don't know why the financing part of it couldn't be corrected to your satisfaction. If you weren't satisfied with the experience, you have a couple of options. First, call or write BMW NA detailing the facts and why you think the salesman and the dealership treated you in an unprofessional manner. Second, give him and the dealership an appropriate score on the survey.

Personally, if I had been treated in a similar manner, I would have walked. If they had refused to refund my deposit in full, I would have sought legal advice.

Hopefully, things will turn out for the better and you will enjoy your new ride.

OH yea Im still waiting on the president or general manager to call me , that customer care lady that took the survey say they were suppose to call me that day , but never heard from them . So I guess I ll just have to call tues ....

It's probably not possible to return the car. If you were getting so mis-treated, you should have backed out. Your $1,000 deposit is refundable !! I don't understand how you got in so deep that the dealership was able to screw you over without being able to back out.

It's a too late to back out since u already have the car, unless u want to lose ur $1000. Basically, just voice ur displeasure to everyone and anyone that will listen to u and is willing to do something to make up for whatever inconvenience that the salesman caused u. The salesman has a manager, if u can't get him, go to the general manager or owner of the dealership. If that still doesn't help then call BMWNA. Do not give the salesman any 5's, if he really wanted to win the contest, he woulda taken care of u in the first place. Hope things work out for you.

Wow man, I feel extremely bad for you... Imagine my experience:

I'm a 17 your old kid walking into a BMW dealership shopping around. I can't even drive a stick shift yet. So, this salesman walks up to me ( i'm by myself ) and says can I help you? And I said yes, im looking for a car... He gives me the weirdest look hehe so he gives me some choices all in low range and im like no, i'd like something fancier and he shows me the car i have now. I asked him to take me for a test drive , he did, and then asked if i wanted to learn how to drive it. I said no thanks right there, but this guy had to be the nicest salsesman i've ever had. I said thank you i will be back later. So i leave, go get my dad, he sees the car, we make an offer and this goes on for a period of a week ( we are out of town from the dealership ) and the salesman calls me every other day to check in. We finally bought the car, he put it on the showroom floor for us, ( this is a used car ) and cleans everything making it extremely nice. Since then, he's called at least 3 times in 1 month, and sent 2 cards... I had an exellent expierece for my age.

Okay, I just read your original post lizattwu and I thought about it and here is what I have to say:
You should have done 3 years financing, if that's what you wanted. You are the customer, you are supposed to choose the financing, not the dealership. You should have just said you wanted 3 years and the dealership would have done it for you. Also, your $1,000 deposit is REFUNDABLE...or at least they HAVE to tell you whether it is refundable or not, but it probably should be refundable. It seems like your only problem is that he gave you 5 years financing instead of 3 years, but that is something YOU are supposed to control, not him.
I think you went into the dealership not really knowing too much what you are doing, and things didn't work out how you planned, so you feel screwed over, but you don't really know how you got screwed over and you are annoyed at that.

Isn't there a Federal law that says you have 3 business days to back out of a contract if you feel you were forced into it? You could loose your $1000 if you return the car, but that's not what I am suggesting.

If possible, just back out of the FINANCING deal that they screwed you into, and then get the 5 year financing that you want. I would even think about going to private bank financing just to piss them off.

Big Daddy may know about the 3-day backout period. He was an attorney I believe. He may have some helpful insight to your problem. Trouble is once you sign a contract it is very hard to back out or change it once the elapse time has expired. That really sucks man. [:(]

OKay I picked up the car on the 26 at 7:00pm , and its the weekend now . So yea it has pass the 3 days thing.. Cause when I sign the agreement on the deposit, it say i will loose the deposit if i change my mind. Guess I'm hoping that the general manager will do something about this , I dont want that salesman to get the commission , or get anything out of the sale. And maybe they make up for this, let wait and see I guess, thanks so much for the replies you guys...
