My 330Ci has no navigation. Business Radio with Harmon / Kardmon sound.
Great -- you're a candidate for the iPod connector. You should hit:

...for more details. If I didn't have the Navigation system, I'd definitely have gone for the simple cable. My system works fine for me though -- it's just not as elegant as having a single cable. The sound is fantastic on my Harmon/Kardon system though.

you can either ipod your bmw (bmw solution, which is cool in concept, ok to live with) or read the ice>link thread and look around a bit.

i wasn't a big playlist guy, so i dun like the bmw's solution, but it's still way better than moving cds around imo.

Bought the iPod 20 GB and will have BMW hook it up in the glove box in about a week or so. I don't mind the playlist issue because this is quite an advance compared to the six disk in-dash changer that I had become used to using. At least now I won't need to keep swapping CDs. Best of all is that the iPod will be completely hidden from view and my interior will not look any different than it does today. I like to keep it clean looking with no obvious aftermarket add-ons in sight.

I'm glad to have found out about the iPod option before I spent the money on the CD changer.

Way to go! I agree with you about "cabin clutter". I didn't want exposed wires... or an exposed iPod, which is why I put together my own glove box solution. You're going to love it. Congratulations again.

Ahh the life of us convertible owners, we are breed unto ourselves! And Scott is correct about the "never go back" thing. I have owned five BMW's in the last 10 years and at one time had three in the garage at once!

Okay get ready for this... [clap]

My wife has never shown any interest in cars. She currently drives a 2000 Nissan Quest and never cared in the slightest to upgrade to a luxury car or a newer car. I have tried in the past to get her to buy something else but she would have none of it.

So... now I buy this new BMW 330Ci Conv. Ever since we drove away with it she can't seem to get enough of it. She wants to drive it whenever she can and she's all about putting the top down as much as possible. [:D]

Well, we have been back to the BMW dealership about 3-4 times because my wife keeps wanting to look at the cars on the lot. And, today, she decided to buy one for herself!!! [bmwdance] She chose a car that just cleared customs and isn't even on the lot yet. We will be picking it up on Tuesday of next week. Here's what she bought:

2005 325Ci Convertible
Silver Gray Metallic with Gray Leather
Premium Package
Sport Package
Steptronic Automatic Transmission
Black Soft Top
Heated Front Seats
Xenon Headlights

My head is still spinning. [cheers] My neighbors are going to think we hit the lottery or something.

Very nice!

No front plate -- good move. [:)]
Heh, not worth the $200+, moving violation, and points on your driving record here in Washington State. There is a petition out to change the law requiring a front plate however, since the petition has been circulating they have been giving out a lot of tickets for it. The Police are keeping a close eye on the front plate issue. It isn’t worth the chance.......

That's amazing. I've never run a front plate on my cars and although it's illegal in CT, I've never been cited for no front plate when pulled over for speed violations.
That's how it was in Wash. State until the petition started circulating. Someone every once-in-a-while would get a ticket, but in a whole it wasn't monitored much, but now they are actually watching for it. I reluctantly (nagging from wife) put one on the front of the M. Just think how hard that was.

I even made BMW take the bracket back and paint it at their cost. It came unpainted and I told them this should have been already done....

P.S. It us to not be a moving violation either. It was about the same as parking ticket, $50 bucks or so, but now it is a very large fine and points on your record. Really lame...

Most states require a front plate, and even little ole Idaho will cite you for not having one. I ran the roadster without one for years, but after moving to Washington I put one on for th every same reasons Scott mentions above, too much $$$ and points. I have not had a citation in over 25+ years and want to keep it that way. (knock on wood)

We should be picking up my wife's car on Monday. She is excited and I am still somewhat stunned. The guys at BMW thought that I was coming back with some sort of a problem. They were pretty shocked that we were there to buy another car after just 2 weeks.

Tennessee doesn't require a front plate. I am glad not to have to put that on the front of the car. I hated having that on my car when I lived in Chicago.
