I just did a KBB on it and I get 29,000. Is he looking to take a 10K hit? I wonder if he's related to the shipping company. Maybe shipping is expensive. Maybe he's the shipper. I think he has some involvment with the shipping. Then again maybe not.

Or, he is just going to make a quick $3000 off of the unsuspecting "buyer" and the car will mysteriously never be delivered. Way too shady for me.

It is so easy to spot a scam....these kinds of things are all over ebay...i mean think about it why the hell would he sign a contract with a shipping company and leave the car with "them" until it is sold, he never gave me his name, does he honestly i would just send him 3,000 without looking at the car, driving it, etc...what a joke....you know the only person that's going to lose money here is him...the money it cost him to put the ad up on ebay.... [bash]

Guys,

someone click on his name in the ad and email him asking about the car and see if he gives you the same runaround...if he says the car is in California just say that youa re also in california and would like to look at it...lol

Guaranteed this is a scam!

Mmmmm... He runs away with $3000 of your money - The car is delivered to you to inspect - The cops put some nice shiny new handcuffs on you because the car is hot?

Don't send him any money - set up an escrow for the trasactions. If it's not a scam and he really wants to sell the car, he should go for it.

Exactly, I almost want to tell him that my buddy who is an officer for DMV would like to come take a look at the vehicle before i buy it....he would crap his pants, this is totally a scam, i mean either the guy is completely brain dead to let that car go for 19K or he is scamming people...what do you think?...I knew it from the minute i saw the ad on ebay....what a joke!

You are probably right! I like the idea of pretending you are an officer for DMV. If it is a scam that ad will be pulled quick. Someone should notify Ebay as well.

Something else

Just ready ebay again and did you notice the feedback. All the feedback is left from the seller which is him - there is no feedback from any buyers.

wow!

great find jcrosi...i did not even notice that....also something i found to be very strage is when he returned my email his email appeared as "V" that's it! just V....it was from an isp of ittprofessionals.com...no name no nothing....Ebay gets this kind of stuff all the time....i guess they have a tough time monitoring the legit ads from the scams due to the amount of business they get every day......if any of your buddies are looking for a bimer in the cali area definitely warn them about this...in fact it might not be a bad idea to start a thread labeled "Avoid" or "Stay Away From"...it would be comprised of crooked dealers, scams on ebay, scams in the paper, etc...just a heads up to keep people away from the rip off artists and adirect them to the honest dealers (if there are any..lol) and the honest individuals selling their cars since they are the ones that truly deserve the biusiness.....just my 2cents....what do you think?

I sent an email to the last bidder on the car through ebay warning him. Also included the link to this site.............But the last bidder could just be a buddy of his trying to get the bid up!

There was a similar listing not too long ago about a 2003 745i. He wanted to sell it for $15,000 but the catch was that the car was in Amsterdam and there were elaborate instructions on how to send the guy his $3000 deposit. I emailed him to see what the story was and asked for all the details about the car. He wrote back telling me that he needed to sell the car quickly because he had a sick mother and needed to move to Paris. I asked for VIN, registration, and more details but I never heard back from him. It's probably the same con artist that has figured out a new way to make a living on Ebay. I would definitely stay away.
