Taping the conversations seems to be a smart thing to do. Removes all the "he said she said". Probably would have made BMWNA act faster. BUT, I have no idea about the legality. There must be an attorney among us.
Why bother taping conversations with BMWNA? In all my years I have never received a direct answer. They are trained not to say anything incriminating.

I'd go one step further. I'd say they are trained to say one thing and only one thing "Sir ... you'll have to contact your dealer to discuss this".

Tape recording can be helpful in litigation

The tape-recorded conversations with BMW will confirm the pattern of denial and lack of forthrightness. This will enable your attorney to argue the facts regarding the fraud BMW has perpetrated on its unsuspecting customers.

We call on BMW to contact all owners of vehicles with known defective transmissions. [wave]

I have taped conversations with BMWNA and the dealer. I have also made copies of this and other boards and plan on contacting investigative reporter to get to the bottom of this.

I agree with the others BMW must make a statement alerting all owners of defective transmissions.

The funny thins is that no one answers the question as to what is fixed in the new tranny to make it work? We know the answer is the clutch pack, but people insist on posting lies.

Software will not correct a mechanical defect. [screwy]
