I get email messages from people in Germany and understand what is being said. But I have no room to talk; they are much better with English than I am with German. I think this says more about me than them. I am not sure how well I would make it through a German email.

I've done 110 maybe, and I have a stick. Should I shoot for higher? Thing is I got a 5 point speeding ticket earlier in the y ear that ended up costing me like 250 bucks in court.

does anyone know if there actually is a limiter on the 325i's ... cause ive taken my 03 up to 128 and it was still pullin pretty good ...

and whoever said cop cars can only do 120 ...... i did a "drive along" with a cop friend of mine in his 2000-2001(?) crown vic (police interceptor) and we hit 130+ easy on the way to a robbery

Yogi, I wouldn't say brave, just really stupid, but it was damn fun!! Even funnier, right after I did that, some fool in a Infintiy Q45 blew past me while i was cruising about 80. I though for sure it was a cop comming up on me real quick, my heart almost jumped right out of my chest.

Ha ha , I like that[:D] [:D] [:D] . I'm just chicken sh*t when I see those white crown vics or impalas, otherwise I know it's not cops. Actually, once I've seen cops in a blue camaro, that scared the heck out of me (not their wannabe power - read: some torque, ZERO power[:D] [:D] - but the way I would never expect them to be cops).

And I don't think going fast is stupid. I think going fast in a crappy car is stupid... But speeding in a Bimmer is fun and safe!

Well, the car DOES exist and apparently CAN do 200 mph with 500hp.

I'd love to see pictures of beemerworld's ride posted here.

Whaddya say, beemerworld?
read the review
With the added power and torque, the IN500 is the icing, on that already rich cake. Against the stopwatch, 0-60mph is accomplished in a supercar-eating 4,5 seconds, 0-120 mph in 14,6. With the speed limiter removed, the N500 stops accelerating just 2mph short of the magical 200mph maximum.
so it'll do 198Mph eventually.

i know that the E39 M5 can hit 180Mph with the limiter removed (and the E34 170Mph) with the extra power etc 198Mph is just about believable (only just though) and one article also says that most guys couldn't actually get to that speed because of traffic anyway.

You should be very carefull, here the cops drive a lot more cars than white vics and impalas. A friend of mine saw a cop in an SUV. I saw one driving a Pontiac, not sure though, My dad was about to pass him on the right when I told him it's a cop, he didn't believe me but he did after the dude turned on his flashers to get to a car on the shoulder. Now, there is almost no way to be safe here in NY, because ANY American made car can be an undercover cop. Even a taxi cab!

Cops in Glendale, Ca. are sporting Jeeps...and have even seen one Highway Patrol (also in Glendale) in a Jeep.

130mph uphill using a "RIO" in the passenger seat to check traffic to the sides and behind so I could concentrate on the road ahead. [rofl] [clap] Have been up to 160 on my '02 CBR954RR and that was [ohcrap], scary part was....She had a little more left. [headbang].

Safety note: One should alway take into account the skill level of the drivers around you and your own skill level and go from there. The quest for speed can sometime outweigh the fear of death. But there is also a time and place for everything.

Additionally, on the local law enforcement end out here, I have heard they have a no chase policy, but HPD is sporting about 4 or 5 Camaro SS' (with additional aftermarket mods) and one with a Twin Turbo 5.0 stang (personal vehicle used on patrol). Don't know what mods you guys got but that's not very favorable odds. [B)] [:D]

Why do they need so many fast cars with a no chase policy? Any how, the only way I see to escape a cop chase is to brake to the speed limit right before crossing a state line. Whats a "RIO" by the way?

So they can get to the accident scene quicker. [:0]

Let me tell you something, if no one is hurt, they will take their time (that includes getting doghnuts and such) and if someone is hurt, you need an ambulance and not a small sedan. Maybe they just keep the cars for the fun of driving them? [fake]

They use them to blitz through traffic, shadow you then turn their lights on. Or (I have personnally seen this, not reciepient) wait until night, run up in your rear-view mirror, back off, run-up, back off and wait. If you're smart you pull in the right lane and let the "person in a hurry" by. Or you can be like most of the rice and other shenannigan artists (a split second decision) and drop a gear to "show" them what's up. But you just get the "Blue Light Special" [wave] [?|]

RIO - Used in aviation, the Radar Intercept Officer, aka GIB/Wizzo. Naval officer responsible for the operation of radar and weapon systems. Protected by the bird deflector up front. [rofl] [driving2]

Sorry officer I wasn't driving fast I was flying low. [:D]
