Love speed

Of course only in Germany. And for some information the stock IN 500 comes with a 503hp and it is capable of doing over! 200mph.

I have instaled a supercharger and a V max control system. The car is now producing more than 700hp. Exactly 601hp at the rear wheels.

My 325i goes about 150 mph. But unsually there´s too much traffic to go that fast. I did it a couple of times but you really have to pay attention to what is happening in front of you. 120 mph is a good speed to go on the Autobahn.
The fastest I have driven, was 170 mph with an Audi RS4. But I felt a little bit unsecure going that fast!

Let me tell you something, if no one is hurt, they will take their time (that includes getting doghnuts and such) and if someone is hurt, you need an ambulance and not a small sedan. Maybe they just keep the cars for the fun of driving them? [fake]
It was a joke. Read the post for what it is. You really believe I think they use the cars for transporting accident victims? And yes, they do need to get to injury accident senses quickly. Not for transporting purposes.[rolleyes]

I didn't want to say that they use the cars to transport the injured, just that they will not get there any faster with faster cars when no one is injured and when someone is injured, the ambulance will probably be there faster. Sorry for the confusion.

I agree, I was making a sarcastic remark about the need for the Police to have those cars. Their Crown Vic's should due just fine for them.

BMW 330ci had it to 130. drive at 100 to 105 all the time to work. Car feels like it is standing still. I ripped through a curve on the highway at 100, car didn't budge.

120 on my 1987 BMW K75S
110 several years ago in my 1986 VW GTI
145 in a 1955 Lincoln prepped for the Panamericana that was running a Nascar G block(it still had a few thousand left on the tac and probably would have done close to 200, didn't seem like a good idea on a local factory road!)

Dude I envy you....you got balls the size of basketballs. I have gone 110 but only for a moment and I was scared by that even.

My max cruising speed is 90, anything above that and I feel like I am cheating death.

Reminds me of the summer of 1999, which I spent commuting 62 miles each way. I averaged 90 mph, including stops. On the interstate it was 95-120mph cruising speed. No radar detector. Got one ticket, for 70 in a 55. Pled it down to a 2 pointer.

1988 Legend V6L, 5 spd, 120k miles or so at the time. Great car. Never complained or ran hot, even with the AC on.

Ah, reckless youth. [;)]

Must admit, little scared when I take curves fast, but you feel what these cars can do. I am stupid for driving that fast, but I can't help it. I max out all my cars!

What[???1] [???1] [???1]

Are you scared of cops or a potential accident? I bet something is wrong with your suspension, because....... I feel that I am driving ONLY above 80-90MPH. Anything less seems like choking my bimmer and witholding it's potential. It feels SOOOOOOOOOOOO freaking safe it's hard to describe. From what all the dudes wrote here, it seems that most of them share this 'safety' opinion. Check you ride, Buddy. I used to have an Infiniti with screwed up tires which felt unsafe at 60 (I fixed the tires and it was fine). E46 feels safe up to about 120. After that I was starting to chicken out[:D] [:D] [:D] [:D]

Oh... I should add that my baby is a 99 with 56k on it, so it's gone through a lot. I bet new rides feel safe all the way to the max. I can't imagine otherwise.

going crazy for the boat... or rather going crazy knowing he will never do that again in the great United States of America where most interstates are as good of a quality but they are FULL of stupid 'always-left-lane' drivers and stupid speeding rules (compared to the quality of the road!)

Kirby, UNBELIEVEABLE ! ! ! the whole pkg was intense. Racked up over 2800 miles in 9 days in 6 countries. Boat will be here Tues night, can pick up the car Wed morning..

Yogi, stationed in Azores. Its worse here than the US... only one highway but there is some twisties where I can appreciate that incredible handling car...

Is there a place I can do a writeup on my experience? wanna share the good times and the killer accidents I saw... either a new thread here? or somewheres else?

Plus I need help posting pics... picking up the car, speedo maxed out at 134, police escort when we intervened a drug bust asking for directions in Portugal... stuff like that....

thanks all,
Krafty
